Bududu Part 2

Back to Bududa

Last weekend I went to the area affected by the landslide was. Because the trip for 80% consisted of driving is Baukje stayed home this time. Our friends Chris and William were also with us and in total we had 6 cars. Also this time we had 4 boys from the orphanage Bulamu included. This charge consisted of 100 times mattresses, 300 blankets and many small items such as soap and plastic cups.

When we first evening in our simple hotel are teenagers Dixon arrived, Ibrahim, Joseph John and Happy disappeared into their room. They had that night, perhaps for the first time in their lives, a single bed without having to share. The relatively hot shower and TV with 2 channels were so great that she spent the rest of the evening only came out to eat and drink to retrieve. They were at about € 5, - got there and they could a lot of buying Coke and fries. For them this was a very special experience. Less amusing was that I slept between their rooms and the TV at 5 o'clock in the morning could also make noise again ... Anyway, when I explained that in a "hotel" between 10 pm and an hour or 8 in the morning makes no noise they did not understand it too.

In the morning we have a few hundred pounds of food purchased in the town and we are the bad road to Bududa smashed. The stuff was this time for a school where 100 children are cared for partly or fully orphaned by the landslide. Really heartbreaking to get them all together in a lokaaltje seen sitting alone and lonely. They slept on bare wooden bed without a mattress, blanket and mosquito net. The UN / Red Cross camp where we were last time this had been there. The only problem was that it is so large and complex is that these children are deprived of everything. As a long time they stood in line for a blanket, they should be happy if they have one night in sleep without someone taking away from them. The same goes for food and other necessities. In order to protect them is this place special care for them decorated.

When the stuff was unloaded, there was a whole program for us to be! We were like a jury seated for the classroom where all children and some were already interested. Well there you are ... First the children are all beautiful dances and songs for us. When a number of speeches by important local people and we were a little something. At the end of the leader took a moment together what we already were doing. It appeared that the children who all thanked us had danced and sung only now heard what had brought. I really have never seen so many incredibly exuberant children. What were they glad they finally after four weeks some good could eat and sleep. Also for the boys Bulamu was very special to help now to share instead of receiving. It was an exhausting weekend but a great blessing!

Everyone who has contributed or has prayed many thanks on behalf of a group of beautiful children from Bududa!

If all goes well soon Chris makes a movie whatever we here on the site!
